The hardest part isn't the grief. It's everything else.

Loss arrives with paperwork, maintenance decisions, and a hundred details your partner once managed. Cedar & Iron absorbs that complexity — so you can focus on what only you can do.

Loss Doesn't Pause for the Logistics

In the months after losing a spouse, the emotional weight is matched by an avalanche of practical demands — a home that needs managing, vendors who need direction, systems nobody else understands, decisions that cannot wait. Most people carry this alone.

Cedar & Iron is built for exactly this moment.

The Reality of This Moment

A calm, practical stewardship for being at home.

One person was managing things you didn't know needed managing.

Every household runs on invisible systems — maintenance schedules, vendor relationships, utility accounts, home warranties. When the person who held all of that is gone, the gaps surface quickly and without warning.

Everyone wants to help. Nobody coordinates.

Family members, attorneys, financial advisors, and well-meaning friends all have opinions. The result is often fragmented guidance, duplicated effort, and decisions made in grief that deserve better process.

The home itself requires decisions you're not ready to make.

Stay or sell. Repair or defer. Update or preserve. These are consequential decisions — financial, emotional, practical — and they arrive before you have the capacity or the information to make them well.

How It Works

Every Cedar & Iron engagement begins with the Stewardship Plan — a full assessment of the home environment, outstanding decisions, vendor relationships, and immediate needs. From there, we carry the logistical weight so you do not have to.

What We Do

What to Expect

A calm, practical stewardship for being at home.

Presence — Someone accountable, not a rotating roster.

One steward. Consistent. Present. Accountable to you specifically. Not a property management company, not a concierge service, not a well-meaning neighbor. A professional who knows your home and your situation and is responsible for both.

Pace — We move at your timeline, not ours.

Decisions about the home — whether to renovate, sell, downsize, or stay — are made on your schedule. We manage the environment in the meantime so that nothing deteriorates and no opportunity closes while you find your footing.

Dignity — You are not a client in crisis. You are a person in transition.

Cedar & Iron does not treat widowhood as a vulnerability to be managed. You are a capable adult navigating an extraordinary amount at once. Our role is to reduce what you carry — not to take over.

Clarity — Information organized so you can act on it.

Monthly reports and clear communication mean you always know the state of your home, the state of your decisions, and what requires your attention next. No surprises. No deferred maintenance you didn't know about.
